Hi all....I applied this fix for disabling Messenger in SP1 and as soon as I did, everytime I open Outlook Express...it takes about 20-40 seconds to open. It hangs everytime. Never had a problem with it before this.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

PEACE & MTIA

I think the following will help:

Fix for slow loading of Outlook Express when Messenger is disabled

Open up Register Editor by running "regedit" command. Click on "Edit" and select "Find". Copy and paste FB7199AB-79BF-11D2-8D94-0000F875C541 onto the "Find what" box and click on "Find Next". Once found, click on the plus sign in front of it and you will find InProc32 and LocalServer32. Select one of them then right click on default under the name column and select "modify", then simply delete what's in the Value Data box. Repeat for the other.

Let me know if this solves your problem.

EDIT: First try this:

Simple Outlook express loading after msn messenger is removed

For those of you who have a slow-loading outlook express after msn messenger has been removed this may help. I tried the other tweaks stating this and i didn't have the registry settings that it said. So I looked at the options and found this:

1. Open Outlook Express
2. Click on tool, options
3. Click on the general tab
4. Uncheck "automatically log on to windows messenger"

Yes...that worked perfectly. And the second thing on the list about unchecking the dealio was not an option on my computer.
