Carolina Internet faces quarter million law suit
Canadian dealer demands payment
A CANADIAN system integrator filed a quarter of a million dollar lawsuit against Carolina Internet Ltd.
Hard Data alleges that it sold a high end system to Carolina Internet in March, but so far the firm has refused to stump up the $242,643.16 it cost.
The filing, in a Mecklenberg court, claims the money was due to Hard Data in early June. But, the filing alleges, although Carolina Internet acknowledges the debts, it has sought repeated extensions and when they weren't given, still promised payment.
It proposed a one per cent interest payment but Hard Data said "industry custom and practice" is 2.5 per cent a month, amounting to 30% annually. The original debt of $242,643.16 has now mushroomed to $256,769.64 plus court costs and lawyers fees. said the complaint, filed earlier this month.
