But beware the Luddites
BEAN COUNTERS at Pew have asked punters what they think the state of the Internet will be like in 2020.
Not surprisingly, most thought that it would be a low cost network which has shedloads of appliances plugged into it.
According to the BBC, more than half were positive about the net's future but 46 had serious reservations.
More than 60 per cent thought that the world would be plagued by a counter culture of Luddites who would resort to terrorism.
The survey says that people think that thanks to the Internet, Engrish would replace other languages. Although it was not clear if this was American English or 'International English'. More
