Mycoke music download loses its fizz
Cola site bites the dust
GAS GIANT Coca Cola has decided to shut its online music downloading site Mycokemusic.com on July 31.
According to the site, when Coke started its downloading operations in 2004 its punters were interested in it and the digital music scene had not properly developed.
However, now there is a lot of competition in the market and it turned out that not many people were interested in the real thing any more.
Customers who have credits at the site will have to use them by the end of the month or transfer them to a site run by Coke's partner, OD2. Punters will still be able to play music that they have in their Coke accounts, but the fizzy drink maker suggests they burn them onto a CD fairly soon.
