No DirectX 10 hardware yet available
All demos run on DirectX 9

AT THIS time there are no DirectX 10 capable chips anywhere. We previously reported that these are scheduled for late 2006 but, for the time being, they are still in the works.

This means that all the cool presentations of future DX10 games are made on the current DirectX 9 hardware.

Although ATI makes Xenos, the Xbox 360 graphics chips, it would still have a hard time making a Windows driver for it. Even then, Xenos is not entirely DX10 capable but it is the closest thing available to date.

The Direct X 10 Software Developers Kit can run and emulate just about anything on the existing hardware, so you can demonstrate and check your future games such as Far Cry Crisis on existing X1900 XTX or Geforce 7950 GX2 technology. Naturally, Direct X 10 games will run much faster on DirectX 10 hardware but you will still have to hold your breath on that one.
