Sharp shooting
THE LATEST VERSION of DivX, which has just been released, has a natty little enhancement feature which makes slightly blurred codecs look a lot sharper.
Version 6.2.5 which can be found
here has a post-processing feature that enhances texture and sharpens any DivX 3, 4, 5 or 6 video.
It also has performance enhancements for post-processing on HT, SMP, and dual core processors.
Basically with a little tweak of the settings, things get a lot clearer.
The website has what it calls examples which are too good to be true really. However when we tried it, it did improve even the most dodgy of DivX videos noticeably.
DivX claims that the decoder in this version is much faster than before and has lots of diagrams to prove it. "In almost every case DivX 6.2.5 is significantly faster than DivX 6.2.2 for playback - more than 30-50 percent in many cases, and up to 63% in the best case," the DivXers say.
