This may be a silly question, but I am curious. I am getting a movie that is 3 files..cd1, cd2 and cd3. All 3 are MPG files that are over 800 mb's each. Now I have already burned a cue/bin file that was over 800 mb's and it fit on a standard 80 min 700 mb cd ( I have no clue how it fit ) and it plays in my home DVD player. My question, before I spend all the time it will take to d-l all 3 800+ mb files, is....will this MPG file fit on a standard 80 min cd ?

If you use Nero, and tell it to make a VCD ( or more propably a SVCD due to the 3 CD's )
it will "shrink" to fit your "normal" 80 mins CD's
Been there, done that

Thnx BearCat,
I do use Nero and I will give that a shot after I get the 1st file.
I opened Nero to look at how I would do this. Seems like I need the MPEG-2/SVCD Plug-in. I have Nero ver 5.5.8.2
Any idea where I can get this plug-in ?
P.S. I hope this is OK in this forum even tho I am requesting something now

you don't need a plugin on any version of nero just exit your wizard and it opens up a classic view dialoge then on the left side of the window scroll down to vcd or svcd and presto

I just wanted to let you all know where I stand now. I tried 1st to burn the mpg file to a SVCD with Nero. I followed the prompts and the cd burned successfully in about 8 mins. Only problem is when I tried to play it with PowerDVD I get a message it is an unsupported format.
Next I tried to burn the mpg to a VCD. I again followed the prompts and after about 40 mins of encoding the cd burned it about 6 mins. Same problem here again. When I tried to play it with PowerDVD I got the same unsupported format message.
I'm sort of at a loss as what to try next. One thing tho, the mpg file will play with WindowsMedia Player...and it is very very good quality.
So now I guess I'm back to step 1. How can I get this 800+ mb mpg file on a cd ? I don't really care that much if it won't play in a DVD player or with PowerDVD, I would just like to get it on a cd.

Did you get the correct MPEG-2 Plugin for Nero ?
Since it had to reencode for making VCD, it *seem's* like it was a SVCD ( MPEG-2) stream.
I remember having some problems with SVCD's in PowerDVD, I only use them in my standalone DVD player.
Hmmm, how long is the MPG when played in the MediaPlayer ?

@cccapt- any chance that you burned it as track at once
instead disk at once?
