Intel goes back in the future with chipsets
DIGITIMES claimed that Intel is going to kick off manufacturing 865GV chipsets this quarter.
And it will also drag its future 975X chipset screaming from the first quarter of 2006 to mid-November, the wire claimed.
The decision to re-start 865GVs is because of "huge demand" from the channel, claims Digitimes.
Intel has already started shipping samples of the 975X, the report said. Most DRAM analysts believe the migration from DDR to DDR-2 is much slower than the memory manufacturers and Intel would have liked.
