Microsoft's latest desktop Windows Operating System update codename Longhorn is not due till 2006 yet the pre-beta builds have given people an insight into the ambitious goals Microsoft has for the future - and here we present LongHorn build 4083 for your review...
Although elements such as WinFS have now been dropped in order to allow Microsoft to hit it's target ship date (What was it you said Steve "december 31, 2006"?) these glimpses of the future of Windows are no less exciting.
Build #4083 was the build WinBeta originally expected to be released at WinHEC earlier this year but Microsoft chose to release build 4074.
This build is for AMD 64 bit cpus but do not be suprised to see a 32bit build released for you to test in the near future.
