Xecuter2 works good for me, but if I did it again it would not be the no sod again. Seen a friends no sod chip burnout, I think from too high res caused by bad connection. Hands down you get better connection with a sod on vs. no sod. Just my $.02

Yea well I dont know how to sod or whatever and dont want to risk it.

I'm also looking for the same thing count.

What about X-CHIP with no sod Adapter and the XBIT V1.5 Xbox Mod-Chip?

Hello,

You can always find a person in your hometown that installs the chips at pretty decent prices.

Installing chips in an XBOX console for sure is 10x easier then a PS2. I have my PS2 modded. I had someone else do it since I wasn't going to risk messing up my system when it came to connecting 23 wires to the board.

I agree with what KingCobra says - better to go for a sod chip over a no sod chip.

Hey war59312,

I believe they still fall into a grey area. I know Europe has banned mod chips that allow you to play copied games. The newer chips are being offered to run homebrew applications only. And of course, a firmware upgrade will follow to unlock the chip to play copied games, but this is how the chip companies are bypassing the law.

Oh yes and let me point out that I just use the chip so I don't have to use my original copies. Kids are hard on things you know.

I also found someone to put my chip in. Talk to people, I'm sure you can find someone in your area that does it.

I agree, it's nice to be able to back-up the Originals, and not fork out for new copies when Junior gets angry....

That's the reason why I had a chip installed - to back up my originals since I've already messed up quite a few games - which ended up having me replace the laser in my unit.

Now if only everyone did this and not be cheap and copy friend's or rental games. They jip the companies who spent a great amount of time producing quality games. We support them to make the next best thing - and without contributions, it will only prevent the companies from producing something that much better!

Anyways, enough ranting - there should be a few forums out their specifically for mod-chips and most have an installation section where people can request service in their area.

The Xecuter 3 was just recently released, I'd highly recommend that.
