Just installed SP2 on my Sony lapop. Same build 2158. This time 75 MB of files and it took a good hour compared to half half that on the desk top.

I kept looking to see if I could find where MS installed the downloaded file, but if it is still on the machine I haven't found it.

Anybody know what's going on with this new download? The build nr., etc?

Well, it is build 2180. Here's what the Sys Info screen says:

OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600
OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation
Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = "5.1.2600.2180 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)"

Yeah, like HotRod said

040803-2158 means 2004 August 3rd, 21:58 hours.

It is the same with mine, which is from the network installation.

Some people claim that they got a build which doesn't have the "rtm" tag. Can anybody please confirm?
