Maybe a dumb question. Is the SP update most of downloaded from MS's web site OK to use with Windows Home pc's?

Slipped it into my home copy and installed on virtualpc. Everything went well, but didn't try to activate.

Thanks for these responses, war and HotRod.

I asked for two reasons: First, I did install it on my Sony laptop some time ago and although it seemed to work ok, the pc definately operated more sluggishly, so I restored a pre install image and decided to wait.

2nd, a good buddy who has Home on his desktop is asking me if it's safe. I've told him to wait for availailablity of a home sp2 update file, or turn on Automatic Update. He's hot to trot and doesn't want to wait. (Know that feeling?)
