Jedis is an unknown quantity at this point
I used the 'map network drive' command on all three Windows 2000 Pro machines on a workgroup. However, upon restart, the three switch the drive letters around randomly. They were X, Y, and Z. Sometimes they become Y, Z, X.

I read to use a login script to set them using "net use x:\ \\name\share" however, it won't work because I'm not using a domain.

I added a shortcut to the batch file in the startup folder -- will this work? It appears it does.

Anything else I need in the batch script besides three "net use..." lines?

Thanks for any help!

Jedis,

Try dropping to a cmd prompt and typing this:

net use x: \\machinename\sharename

or

net use x: \\ipaddress\sharename

If you can do it from a command prompt then you can run the commands from a batch file and have it run each time the machine boots up

Hope this helps some - sorry so late in the reply - been getting hammered by hurricanes lately

/JD
