Networking my Computers

I have a Linksys BEFSR41 router. I have a Cable internet service. I have managed to get my computers to access the internet. However I would like to network the two together.

However when I use Windows XP's built in wizard, I can't use the same ethernet device to browse the LAN as well as have access to the internet.

Could somebody please explain to me how to do this. Thanks.

I don't know about Linksys router but I suppose it is one of thoose combo-things with switch/router/LAN-cable/xDsl-interface. There is no use going for the inbuilt wizard as it is supposed to setup a network where the XP machine works as gateway for the other boxes (ICS). (Then of course two network cards are needed.
I think you better head for a place like w**.practicallynetworked.com (there are other similar places to) for all sorts of tips and how-to's.

You can use one LAN card on each computer.
I have same router and I had the same problem.So I reinstall WindowsXP on both my machines and windows setup did everythig,after you have to only run network wizard.
I don't know if is there another way but this work in my case.

Decide if you want DHCP and hardcoded IPs, connect each computer to the router, and ener the admin panel to forward any ports to the computers and then you're ready to browse

Thanks guys for your help. I found a webpage www.homenethelp.com. It walked me straight through networking my computers.

Or get a switch and connect the router to the switch, and the switch to the other computers.

Why? The router has a switch, and I have it working now.
