Anyone have any solution for this XP limit?

When more than 10 people try to log onto a Win-XP Pro Server, or 5 people on Win-XP Home, (using TCP-IP) they get an error saying - the "max" number is already logged on. EVERYONE can use DSL, through a gateway, but only 10 people can log onto a server.

Microsoft says there is no way to raise this limit and the only solution seems to be to get Win 2k.

anyone have a suggestion?????

thanks in advance

Yes, Get yourself a Windows.NET / Windows 2K Server
From the first version of Windows NT there is always been the limit of a maximum 10 concurrent conection to a workstation version.

I don't know of a way around it.

Windows XP Professional only allows 10 simultaneous network connections. Attempting to change this would violate your license agreement.

This is the reason Microsoft makes Windows 2000 Server.

Hmmm. I have never had that problem ... are you sure the resource you are trying to access has the MAX number of clients?

I knowi t has a 10 user connection, but on a LAN that I manage their file server is XP Pro, and they have more than 10 connections to it at one time ...

flanderz, he's pertaining to maximum ftp user to login on his personal ftp server using IIS.
I think the limit on the XP Pro is hardcoded, and might be difficult to change the setting.
