Blocking Ports

i need to block the port that kazaa donwloads stuff of so my sister in law can stopp putting huge viruses on the comp, and i also need to block port 445 and 454, can anyone help or recomend going somewhere

Do you have a firewall program? If you know what ports to block using your firewall program you can block them. If you don't know what port to block, when the program calls out your firewall should pop up with the port when it tries.

Yea just download a firewall such as Sygate Personal Firewall or Zone Alarm and disable access to kazza and pw protect it so settings cant be changed on you.

I hesitate to say this but in reality she is your sister-in law and talking needs to be done. You may need to tell her straight up not to use it for "junk" that causes problems. Also, yes do password the firewall so it is blocking but as soon as you do you will have to explain anyway why. Use XP set up a limited account may be the better choice. PS: you could always format and not reinstall some things and use real good security "because of hackers". Thats your story and I'm sticking to it.
