Try Start > Run > msconfig

Also check
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
and here
Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

First- check if you have this service installed, and running :
"TCP/IP Printing Service, (called Print Services for Unix in Windows 2000)"

If you do, you might want to read this article :

Bads
This is your DHCP Client
It's under services. (svchost.exe -k netsvcs)
It's da application that provides Network and Internet communication through TCP/IP.

Try to set it to "manual" then reboot and see if it's still started.

If yes still started, set it to "auto"... then reboot and see if you still have your lan /internet connection working.

It's usually only started when you configures special TCP/IP services, such as the DHCP Server or other tcp/ip stuffs (like BC suggested) which need to talk to each other...

You don't wanna uninstall this one, no really you don't.
Then again, maybe you have no need for DHCP CLIENT, if your internet connect works after disabling it under services, then... your in like flynn.
Nothing defaultly depends on this service so you won't break anything.
Hope it helps..

@bads - if you are still having problems tracking down the service-
look in smoke's folder for startuplist.exe - it will show you everything the runs on startup, not just those in the startup folder. It is about 58 kb

that will help you find it in the Registry
