Kodak Imaging for windows xp
Do you remember the old Kodak Imaging that was in windows 95,98, and 2000?
Would you like it back? I you still have the old Windows CD's here is how!

If you have upgraded to Windows XP from Windows 95 OSR2, 98, ME or 2000*,
(and possibly NT4) you can still use the Wang or Kodak Imaging for Windows (IfW)
applications and ActiveX controls if you can access the files listed below. If
you installed XP to another folder, thus preserving your previous Windows
version, or if you can re-install your previous version of Windows on another
partition or computer, you can copy the files to your current \windows\system32
directory as described below. If you no longer have your old Windows version
installed, you can extract the files from the CAB files on your original Windows
9x CD or expand the files from the Windows 2000 CD. If you have not yet upgraded
to Windows XP, I suggest archiving copies of these files in a separate location
before performing the upgrade.

For Windows 2000,

If you are installing a copy of IfW from the Windows 2000 CD, you will need to use expand.exe:

g:\i386\expand g:\i386\imgadmin.oc_ c:\ifw\imgadmin.ocx
The simplest method is to create a batch file to copy all the files:

rem
g:
cd i386
expand imgadmin.oc_ c:\ifw\imgadmin.ocx
expand IMAGEVUE.IN_ c:\ifw\IMAGEVUE.INF
expand imgcmn.dl_ c:\ifw\imgcmn.dll
expand IMGEDIT.OC_ c:\ifw\IMGEDIT.OCX
expand IMGCMN.DL_ c:\ifw\IMGCMN.DLL
expand IMGHELP.HL_ c:\ifw\IMGHELP.HLP
expand IMGMGT.CH_ c:\ifw\IMGMGT.CHM
expand IMGMGT.HL_ c:\ifw\IMGMGT.HLP
expand IMGSCAN.OC_ c:\ifw\IMGSCAN.OCX
expand IMGSHL.DL_ c:\ifw\IMGSHL.DLL
expand IMGTASKS.CH_ c:\ifw\IMGTASKS.CHM
expand IMGTHUMB.OC_ c:\ifw\IMGTHUMB.OCX
expand IMGVIEW.CHM c:\ifw\IMGVIEW.CHM
expand JPEG1X32.DL_ c:\ifw\JPEG1X32.DLL
expand JPEG2X32.DL_ c:\ifw\JPEG2X32.DLL
expand KODAKIMG.EX_ c:\ifw\KODAKIMG.EXE
expand KODAKPRV.EX_ c:\ifw\KODAKPRV.EXE
expand OIENG400.DL_ c:\ifw\OIENG400.DLL
expand OIPRT400.DL_ c:\ifw\OIPRT400.DLL
expand OISLB400.DL_ c:\ifw\OISLB400.DLL
expand OISSQ400.DL_ c:\ifw\OISSQ400.DLL
expand OITWA400.DL_ c:\ifw\OITWA400.DLL
expand OIUI400.DL_ c:\ifw\OIUI400.DLL
expand TIFFLT.DL_ c:\ifw\TIFFLT.DLL
expand WANGIMG.EX_ c:\ifw\WANGIMG.EXE
expand XIFFR3_0.DL_ c:\ifw\XIFFR3_0.DLL

After you install Windows XP (and copy all the IfW DLLs and OCXs to \system32), you will need to register the ActiveX controls (OCX files). The easiest method is to use the Start | Run facility and execute the statement:

regsvr32 imgadmin.ocx
Do this for each of the four OCX files listed above. This should allow you to run wangimg.exe or kodakimg.exe and kodakprv.exe, as well as using the controls in the demonstrations in my ImageEditor workspace or in your own applications.

Several users have reported failures when trying to register the OCXs, receiving the error message, 'LoadLibrary("imgxxxx.ocx") failed - The specified module could not be found.' This is a generic error that occurs if a supporting DLL, linked internally by the OCX or DLL being registered, cannot be found. Double-check that all the required IfW and system DLLs are present in the system32 folder.
