Intel Viiv logo not the final form factor
Intel Developer Forum It may not surviive (sic)THE CONFUSION over Intel's designs on the home consumer market took a further turn for the wuss as we left San Francisco and the Developer Forum.

See The mystery of Intel's Viiv logo continues.

High ups at the chip firm told us that the reason for there not being any copies of the logo available is simple enough.

Intel has not yet completed its due diligence to ensure that the logo can yet make it in its latest rev. It doesn't want to breach anyone else's trademarks.

It does occur to us that with the Viiv machines coming up, early adopters of the Media Center machines might be a little miffed that soon there will be a better machine out using the awesome power of Centrino marchitecture and the Pentium M. But if "dumb consumers" buy machines just on the basis of how pretty a logo is, we guess they will get their just desserts.
