Hey,

What do you guys think of Norton AntiVirus 2004.

I for think its a POS.

Look at this:

That is after 23 hours straight. Only program running.

Can't even do a full system scan since it is trying to scan some damn file that does not even exist. What a pos.

Even worst is that my boot time is now around 7mins. lol Norton is 6min and 24secs. of it.

So anyone with similar problems. Just wondering if I am the only one.

Oh and sometimes norton just feels like eating up all my proccsor and memory. Totally random.

cya,
Will

Guess what! I remember having this exact situation with Norton AntiVirus 2003 Professional. Forgot to get a screenshot.

According to my new policy, I am not gonna install any antivirus programs and going to use the computer under a Limited User account. I know i am risking my computer for viruses, but worth a try.

I've used NAV 2000, 2002, 2003, and now am using 2004 Public Beta, and I've never had any problem with any of them. A usual full scan takes about 20 minutes.
Occasionally, the scheduled scans stop being scheduled, or the updates won't install, but a re-install fixes it. Minor inconveniences for the protection given. Since using NAV 1.0 (1990) I've never had a virus cause any damage.

Hmmm. Could be an obscure/hidden setting that got messed up during the install. I used to use NAV 2000 but never had that problem...other than the noticeable slow-down.

Reinstalled 6 times now. I give up on it. Oh well.
