Windows 98 ONLY

This has worked well for me in the past: Want to double the speed of your processor ? Defrag before you do this. To do this, place your swap file on a different drive. The second drive cannot be a partition of the same drive and the second drive must be on a separate BUS, that means a separate or second hard drive. It's easy and here is how it works: lets say your Windows directory is on the C drive, this is where all the DLL files are. Now let's place the swap file on a different drive. While one set of arms are reading the DLL files and program the other drive can be reading the swap file. You can do this in the Device Manager under the Performance tab, and than select the Virtual Memory button. Select you drive letter from the drop down list. While here click on let me specify my own virtual memory setting. Select your memory setting which is "two and a half times" the size of you RAM; that is if you have 128M of ram your virtual memory will be 320 (128 + 128 + 64). Insert 320 in both minimum and in maximum.

Enjoy

That works real good for win98...but how about winxp or win2k

I was just wondering how good the results would be on XP or 2K

Thanks
