Anyone have any experience sharing files using PcAnywhere...?

I'm having problems with setting up my Linksys Router to connect to a remote computer (not on my home network).

I surprised no one had brought that up before. I have pcAnywhere available but don't have any use for it at the present time.

Then again, maybe there's a reason no one has thought about transferring files that way.

Anyway, I read the readme file and I think I remember reading about compatibility with a router (don't remember what brand).

i'll see if I can find it again...

Cactus is an unknown quantity at this point
Hi there,

I use pcANYWHERE, and even file transfer without any problems. As u might know pcANYWHERE uses TCP port 5631 and UDP port 5632. Enableling these ports on your router/firewall should enable pcANHWHERE, and file transers seem to use the exact same ports.

So if your able to connect to the anywhere host, you should also be able to transfer files from an to that host, provided that you have the correct rights withing pcanywhere and on the hosts file system.

Hopes this helps,

Cheers,

Le Cactus
