I just received this email from a friend and I post this as a user and understand that the crew/board unless noted with the ThankYou Bot does not agree with what this quote reflects. Although, I do feel very much the way this quote reads!

Quote:
This is the speech I want to hear George W. Bush give next!!!!
My Fellow Americans:
As you all know, the defeat of Iraq regime has been completed. Since
congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.
This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces
from Iraq. This action will be complete within 30 days.
It is now time to
begin the reckoning.
Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which
have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short. The
United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there.
The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the worlds
nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of
both lists later this evening.
Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those
nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war.
The American people are no longer going to pour money into! third world
Hell-holes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.

Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France.
In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money
toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home.
On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will
hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the
earth. Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France, or maybe China.
To Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Yo, boys. Work out a peace deal
now. Just note that Camp David is closed. Maybe all of y! ou can go to Russia
for negotiations. They have some great palaces there. Big tables, too.
I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France,
Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance, mes amis. I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers! , and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the wor ld. I love New York.
A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to
be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing
us off for a change. Mexico is also on List 2. President Fox and his entire
corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple
extra tank and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am gonna put
em? Yep, border security. So start doing something with your oil. Oh, by the
way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty --- starting now.
We are tired of the one-way highway.
It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens.
Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them be saying, "darn tootin."
Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world
has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet.
It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate
homelessness in America. It is time to eliminate World Cup Soccer from America.
To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thanks guys. We owe you and we
won't forget. To the nations on List 2, a final thought. Drop dead.
God bless America.
Thank you and good night.

It should be nice with a US president listening to the world opinion. I don't mind that.

But in a total; what a sad reading. I'm sorry KC but this would turn your president into a very small (? the opposite to great I mean) person.

As US done exactly that for ages there is a severe lack of consistence in the text. 5% av the planets population and 25% of the pollution. Thank you US. September 9 in Chile. Thank you US. A massive debt to the UN. Thank you US. Veto against the proposed resolutions against Saddam. Thank you. Vietnam, Orange X and napalm against kids. Thank you. Grenada. The oil in Iraq, not to mention all the WMDs against the Kurds. Thank you again.

For God's sake, if US would only stay in the USA many would applause that.

Then USA has taken part in many good, and very good, actions too. Things are complicated, money dirty and politics is most often mirroring the human collective at the poor stage of our development. I see no easy solutions but getting childish and more narrowminded can't be the way.

Yes, I agree! 100%

As for Mr. Bush....

I didn't like his father and I don't like him. I don't agree with us going into Iraq when we did, but I do think it's time to come home. Furthermore, I do feel we need to focus more on USA issues. Starting next year my kids will not have PE, Art or Music due to a lack of state & federal funding but we can spend how much over there and other places to help out.

I repect your feelings rikytik, but I do not consider anything that has happened over in Iraq or my childrens education a joke and I am serious. Do you have children and or a family member in the military? I have both.

I agree with some of the original post. On the other hand, no one can say what the world would be like if the US wasn't involved as much as it is. If we go isolationist, then people would say "Why doesn't the richest country in the world give a poopie about the poor countries, such as in Africa."

I guess what I'm saying is that I wish we would do more of the humanitarian stuff and stay out of the political realm a bit more. But I suppose they go hand-in-hand.

The only thing I would add to that speech is, "Find someone else to buy your products."

King Cobra, speed reading and hasty replies don't go well together. Sorry.

I served 7 years in the US Military. My kids are in Italy and Texas and are also disillusioned with US politics. I spent my career working as an exaptriate in several foreign countries.

Everywhere I've been during the past 25 years as an expat and observer has shown me examples of how provincial US politicians are and how short sighted they are when it comes to planning for the future of our grand children.

And now with the Iraq thing the powers at large are trying to export USA style democracy (they say) to a part of the world which has never operated under that kind of system--and is unlikely to adopt it any time soon.

The US had no business going there as an independant policeman without a mandate. I don't think this has much to do with helping poor nations--this is politics.
