THE PRICING ROW BETWEEN NVIDIA and Microsoft is at an end. The two had fallen out to the point of going to arbitration.
The row started over the price of nVidia chips. Microsoft is losing around $100 on every Xbox it sells and decided to ask nVidia to drop its prices. nVidia quite sensibly refused, why should they lose money too? Microsoft started insisting and it all went downhill from there.
Now nVidia has announced that the arbitration is over and that it "couldn't be more delighted with the results." That might well mean nVidia got things its own way, though nVidia has not gone into details. However, it also said that "nVidia and Microsoft can now take our partnership to the next level". Which points toward Microsoft being happy with the deal too.
Our guess would be that Microsoft managed to get nVidia to drop its price a little but not as much as it would have liked. We'll have to wait another week to find out the full details from nVidia officials though we wouldn't be surprised if details started leaking sooner.
