You must check out Google's new development - Froogle at
http://www.froogle.com
This great new site is a search engine for products being sold online. Utilizing the all too familiar Google style interface, you simply enter the pruduct you want to buy and click search and you will get a list back of links to sites selling that product with a short descriptionof the product, a picture (if available) AND THE SALE PRICE. You can even use the advanced search features to narrow down the search by inputting a price range with your exising or new search criteria. I would reccommend using boolean operators if you don't have a model number already to keep out unnecessary items - like if you are looking for a Laptop Computer, you might try it "-case" and "-battery" or "-other unnecessary accessory" that will clutter up your search results. It is also especially useful to sort the results by price with just the click of a button.
Anyway, it is really great to be able to quickly get pricing and links for sale items without digging through so many other websites. And from the test searches I did, like "Canon S400", "Laptop", and "Monster Z1 Cable", the results were great often hitting on sites I expected to see and finding others I hadn't seen and all with the prices right there.
Leave it to the boys and girls at Google to pioneer a new way to shop online. I still love eBay though. I hope you all get a chance to check it out and hopefully save some money and time.
