PentaZip was one of the first compression programs to support archives larger than 4GB which is the physical limit of the 32 bit ZIP algorithm. This was done by creating a 64 bit algorithm which we called ZGB™ that stands for ZipGigaByte. Starting with version 6 ZIP64 (used by other Compression programs) is also supported. PentaZip 6 can read and write both the ZGB and the ZIP64 formats as well as convert from one format to the other.
