Chris
I have recently setup an FTP Server using Bullet Point FTP.

What I would like some input on is the best way to set up the file directory. What I am after is making it as user friendly as possible to everyone who connects to it.

This is the first time I have actually got round to setting one up and I know as with everything its always a work in progress, I would really like some help with this please.

Any advice you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks in Advance

Chris.

Hi Chris,

I'm claiming that you have already setup user accounts and just need so assistance on setting up the directory structure.

1st. Your FTP has to always have a root directory with various file and other directories springing from it.

You can even name this root directory, "FTP"

2nd. The seperators need to be in-place. If you have any backed-up applications or music that you need, I suggest that you make a folder for these.

The rest is excaping me.. Get in touch with me if you still need help with this. Cool.

Setting up an FTP can be a dredful process.

I really hope this helps..

let me know if she does or does not.

Thanks,
Cyberion

PS. It just came to me that you have just joined us. Welcome Chris to BetaONE. Yay... We are all family here so if you need something, advice or whatever just let someone know and we can help you

Chris,

If you need anything at all, just let me know. I'm very happy to give you advice as long as you wish.

Your right.. BetaONE is a on-line brain of great information. All you have to do is ask the right questions to the right people and information will begin to flow.

Anyhow, just let me know what I can do to help. That is what I love to do.

its finally getting there, the FTP Server is near completion and almost ready for being put under scrutiny.
Belthazor & Cyberion & RichardC2000 you will be the first to check it out and give feed back.
Positive or not I dont care, every little bit of advice good or bad helps to get it right.

Many Thanks
