Upgrade to version 7.3
IT'S NOT Apple's best week, it seems. Multiple security flaws have been discovered in its Quicktime media player implementation, this just after serious bugs surfaced in its latest Mac OS/X 10.5, aka Leopard.
Apple's advisory is rated Highly Critical. It lists seven separate vulnerabilities in Quicktime versions prior to 7.3 that can expose sensitive information. A successful exploit reportedly can permit the execution of arbitrary code, potentially enabling a remote attacker to gain unrestricted, administrator level access to the underlying
operating system. Sounds nasty.
Secunia has the advisory with links to Quicktime version 7.3 upgrades for all of Apple's big cat themed versions of Mac OS/X
