Let me see if I get this right. A chunk of Orange foam brought down Columbia. And after TWO YEARS of research, even LARGER chucks of Orange foam fell off this time? Luckily none of these chunks hit the shuttle. Or did they?

As much as I want to visit other star systems, it's time shut the shuttle down! It's an old piece of JUNK!

Beam me OUT!

AP - 1 hour, 30 minutes ago SPACE CENTER, Houston - NASA announced Monday that it will conduct a spacewalk to fix two worrisome pieces of filler material protruding from Discovery's belly. "At the end of the day, the bottom line is there is large uncertainty because nobody has a very good handle on the aerodynamics at those altitudes and those speeds," said Wayne Hale, the deputy shuttle program manager.
