We are providing both English and German language versions and you can choose between two installation options for SP4: Express and Network. Please review the descriptions below for each to determine the option that suits your needs.
NOTE:
Windows 2000 SP4 includes the updates contained in previous service packs.
Anti-virus software programs may interfere with the installation. Please disable anti-virus software while installing Windows 2000 SP4.
Windows 2000 Beta SP4 Express Installation:
The Express installation detects your system components and installs only the files that are necessary for your computer. For example, files for Windows 2000 Professional will not be installed if your computer is running Windows 2000 Server. As a result, the number of files installed and the download times may vary depending on whether you are using Windows 2000 Professional or Windows 2000 Server. This installation method is recommended for customers who want to reduce their download time.

Windows 2000 SP4 Network Installation:
The Network installation includes all of the Windows 2000 SP4 files needed for installation on Windows 2000 Professional, Server, or Advanced Server. This is an ideal download mechanism for IT professionals who require a downloadable copy of Windows 2000 SP4 that they can use for network deployment. ISDN or faster connection is highly recommended.
Recommended for multiple-computer installation.

Burn your own CD
We give you the opportunity to create your own copy of the SP4 standalone and integrated CDs*.
*Integrated means Windows 2000 with SP4.
If you have a CD burner please follow the procedure below:
Copy the desired image to the hard drive of your local machine.
The image is now ready to be burned onto the CD-Rom.
Refer to the manual for you burning software on instructions on burning .iso images.
If you do NOT have a CD burner we provide a Virtual CD Utility as a method for performing a supported upgrade using ISO Images.
The Virtual CD Utility will read the ISO images on Windows 2000. Once installed, the utility will create a virtual CD drive with the contents of the image file as if it were a standard physically attached CD-ROM drive.
Download the self-extracting WinZip file, vcd.exe, to any location on your computers hard drive.
The WinZip files includes:
VCDRom.sys (system file)
VcdControlTool.exe (Application)
VCD_Quickstart.doc (quick instruction guide)
VCD_DetailedInstructions.doc (More in-depth instructions on how to set up and run the utility)
msvcp60.dll (dll necessary for successful installation)
Browse to the location you saved the files. Read and follow the instructions (VCD_DetailedInstructions.doc) to run the Virtual CD Utility.
