convert old power supply?
I'm hoping someone can answer this, but I'm betting not. I've got an old power supply and want to convert it to a 20-pin power supply. I haven't actually counted the pins, but it uses two plugs and I'm guessing around 10 pins.

Can this be done without frying the computer I plan on hooking it to?

A few question,
How many Watts do you have and need?
How many Pins does it have?
What is the wring of the old power supply? (line by line)
What is the wring of the new 20-pin connection?
And how many Pins do you need?

Sounds like you might have an old AT power supply,
and I highly doubt you will be able to mod it into an ATX PSU.

thanks guys, I ended up not needing to convert it. The power supply in the computer ends up working just fine.

The project is a car computer. I'm eventually going to get GPS and the whole works in the truck. In the initial planning stages right now.
