FXP and bandwidth

Had a general question about FXP. I am currently behind a universitie's firewall and they have imposed a limit of 1 gig up and 1 gig down per 24 hour period as a limit not to be exceeded if I want to keep my account

My question is, is FXPing considered using bandwidth from my end? For instance, I connect to server A, and then to server B, and tell A to transfer files to B. Do the files go straight from A to B, or do they go from A to me temporarily and then to B? Thanks for any insight anyone can give me.

Hi Shiromagius, if the transfer goes direct from Server to Server, then obviously it would not be using your "Bandwidth". Only a little bit would be used to "Direct" the process. Some time ago modD started a Thread called ....FTP Ring...which this would be a valuable component of, if it can be set up to do that.

My "Sympathies" go out to the RIAA.
