Vista internal beta 2 out, public beta in April
M$ has internally released a beta, build 5308, of its Vista operative system.
Some readers are reporting that it features support for latest graphic cards, DirectX 10 and the new graphic user interface, Aero glass works just fine.
This beta won't be for public consumption and we'll have to wait until April to see the next public Beta or Release candidate. There is a possibility that the next beta won't be beta at all. Microsoft could just rename this build to Release to Manufacturer, RTM 0, assuming it stands up.
Sources have confirmed that RTM 1, Release to manufacture 1 version should be ready by June, while the final version that goes to manufactures is scheduled for June/September time. Those timings can be change but this is where the Vole sits right now. It looks like we might see Windows Vista, Longhorn before long. Now it's time to start digging about the next Windows, codenamed Vienna.
