Hi guys

I've got Nortan Firewall 2004 on my machine. the one that connects to the internet. Reason i have this on is cause sassar has visted me twice in one week, forcing me to try and save my stuff. I've got my printer also on this machine, which i share with another PC in my house.

Now when i have my firewall enabled, i can't print from the other PC. just says it can't find the printer. Disable the firewall, and BOOM. its working again.

I can't find any place in the software that lets me set which IP's i wanna allow to go through the firewall. how do i set this? or else how do i get it to share the printer with the other PC

regards,
Morne

It's there!

Go into the firewall, advanced tab and then select to make a general rule. Then select add and several different menus will ask you questions as to what kind of connection you want to allow. You might need to play with those setting a little if your not sure. Go ahead and allow all connections, because later in the menus you can select an IP address for your local network.

I have a paid for version of 2004 and found that it ain't that much different than 2003. In fact, I like 2003 better because I am constantly changing things on my 4 pc's (2 laptops and 2 desktops) These guys and their preoccupation for corporate customers escaping fees cause us retired guys a lot of problems. <grin>
