I'll be posting a more detailed announcment with the details of all the changes. Basically we are planning some major updates and improvments to BetaONE.
One of the largest changes will be a move back to the vbulletin forum system. We used to use this two years ago, but changed to IBF due to licencing issues. Since IBF is no longer free, it's lost it's advantage.
Other changes we're planning include a bittorrent tracker for (legal) beta software downloads, an MSN messenger bot to instantly notify users of replies to their threads and posts, a better redesigned portal complete with a news aggregator bot, a knowledge base section with publicly-editable posts for collaboratively working on up-to-date guides, etc, and more :P
As I said... more details coming soon. It's still in the early stages.
At some point there will be a scheduled downtime for the upgrades. This will most likely be near the end of this week, probably Saturday. More information will be posted as soon as final decisions are made.
Oh.... and this is the best time for us to take into account suggestions and ideas regarding the functionallity of our forums... so if anyone has any good ideas, now's the time to suggest them.
