How does it work?

Download the EPG_ChangeDownloadTime.zip and extract it to your desktop
Double-click the file EPG_ChangeDownloadTime.exe
The main screen will start and looks like this:
In the left top corner you will notice the last time the guide was downloaded
Now set the preferred time by changing the hour and minute indicator and click "Set"
A message box will show that the new time was set. It also indicates that you need to restart the computer to take the new settings into effect!
Quit the application and then restart the computer.

Microsoft Media Center - Web News & Weather

Download: Web News & My Weather Integrated (version March 9th 2005)

Installation:
Unzip "MCE-SAMConsult.zip" in "c:/program files/MCE-SAMConsult".
Edit "Start Menu.reg" to modify "Mijn nieuws" to whatever you like.
Double click on: "Start Menu.reg" to add Web News to the Start Menu of MCE, if you want Web News under "More Programs", use the "Web News.mcl" file. Place it in the "C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Start Menu/Programs/Accessories/Media Center/Media Center Programs" directory. "Web News.mcl" can be edited in Notepad.

Run "MSVBVM50.EXE" to install the VB5 runtime files.
Double click on: "SAMConsult.reg" to register "SAMConsult.dll", you can first use regsvr32.exe to register and later double click on the "reg" file.

Double click on: "WebNews.reg" to add 70 newsfeeds of BBC, CNN, Reuters, Elsevier and Nieuws.nl, plus My Weather and Satellite Animations.
The total number of news feeds or menu items is unlimited and news feeds and menu items can be mixed.
A menu item can be any html page or url, but within MCE its preferably a hosted html application. As an example a Menu page is added to Miscellaneous, with which you can reach all the menu items of MCE (this is part of the MCE SDK, but in MCE style).

Web News works well on MCE 2005 (1280x768) and also on Windows XP (1280x1024) without MCE.

Web News has filters for BBC, CNN, Reuters, Elsevier & Nieuws.nl.
Web News can also be used as an alternative menu system.
My Weather is based on information of The Weather Channel.

After installation you can fully customize Web News to your own needs.

I want to give credits to mcesoft media center plugins and Ryan Hurst who developed My Weather, for allowing me to use their products as a basis for further development.

I did manage to get the MyOutlook on an Extender; IT'S PERFECT!!!!

OK -- I've been trying to figure out how to get "My Outlook" to work on an extendaer and can't -- how did you do it? I get a script error on my extender when I try to run... I will probably need a step-by-step!

I have set up a new standard user and both the old and new users can use "My Outlook" on my machine, but I cannot get the copied profile to take on the extender user -- it wants to install a new copy of outlook for the user and creates an error in the log that says "unauthorized window detected..."

Hey Max Bee,

First, start with creating a new account on your XP machine. Name it MCX2 or something. Logon to Windows with this new account so the users profile is created. logoff, and login as an adminitrator. Now replace that newly created profile with the profile of your actual extender user witch is usualy MCX1. Don't just copy it with the explorer, use the "User Profiles" option from the properties of the "My Computer" icon on your desktop. Don't forget to hand out rights/priviledges to the MCX2 user!

Now logon with the MCX2 account and setup your outlook account, make sure it uses the Exchange mailbox you wanna use on your extender. Start MyOutlook and double check everything works like it should. If it don't work in a regular windows session, it surely won't work on the extneder!!!

Now logoff and logon as an Administrator again, and repeat the profile copy process, now copying the MCX2 profile to the MCX1 profile (again, don't forget to set the priviledges) and make MCX1 also a member of *all* the groups MCX2 is a member of. Now start your xbox and have fun

If everything works you can safely remove the MCX2 account.

If it doesn't work, please explain witch part doesn't work...
