Thats a nice portal you guys have, where did you get it or did you program it yourselves?

I'm looking for one to replace the aged one on my site.

It's actually a combination of things. First, we based it around two hacks on ibplanet. The custom pages hack, and the ssi+ hack.

Ok, all of the HTML is coded by hand, along with the php for the news exporter and the last ten posts table. The code itself is stuck inside a custom page from the above hack. That hack was then altered so it would allow PHP to be used it that invision board skin file, skin_pages.php. Then, the rest of the dynamic board generated content was done through html / css tables with php include() calls to ssi.php.

I hope that makes sense, lol, if you want to use it, just let me know, and if you can install the main two hacks plus edit the stylesheet that I made for it, then I'll try to help you port the custom php we used with it to your site.

oh, and IBF's index.php was edited so that the first page it gives by default is index.php?pg=home, instead of index.php?act=idx

Kinda get ya ... So you have the forums in the root directory of B1's webspace? My forums are in a seperate folder. I guess a tweak to make the links n all point to it isn't too hard!

I'd try something like it, but I am just too lazy LOL!

Found a Portal, hacked it a little bit. Not as good as B1's but not bad!

yep, everything is in the root of the webspace , but because a lot of posts, etc. had links pointing to /forums/ for the year and a half our board has lived in a /forums subdirectory, what we did was just symlink (or redirect) every request for something in /forums/ to /, instead of mass searching and replacing across a near 70mb database
