Get all addresses on a network?
Hey Guys/Gals,

I was wondering if there is a way to get a list of all the Ip addresses along with thier host names on a network. Is there a tool or command line or something that I could run that would output this? Your help is much apreciated.

Thanks

PCTech is an unknown quantity at this point
Send a message via AIM to PCTech
Start -> Run -> "cmd"
then at the command prompt type this and see if it doesn't help you
"net view"

then you should get an output that reads all of the computers "net-bios" names out on a screen ex: \\computer1 and a description

so you could then type ping computer1 and it would give you the IP addy

as far as a command that does all i'm not aware of one....

I have used this tool with much success in the past:

http://www.foundstone.com/index.htm?subnav=resources/navigation.htm&subcontent=/resources/proddesc/scanline.htm

It's pretty quick command line and can pipe the results to a text file
