Is it me or is Win 2003 seriously lacking in the driver department? It didn't even have drivers for one of my network cards! Just as well I had XP Pro on another drive, I swipped its .inf files. I think its bad, they should have included ALL the latest drivers, and not left any out, including sound.

What kind of network card do ya have? Although, that shouldn't have mattered. I agree, they should have ATLEAST kept the drivers that were in XP.

Had a related problem with RC2: a 3Com modem driver was omitted, that had been available in all betas - M$ advised it would be included in the final RTM code, though I haven't checked if it's there.

I too have SB AWE 64 (ISA) soundcard which works fine in Win98, Win2000, and WinXP but not Win 2003 Server...(all on same PC)...

Can you tell me which files were transferred from Win2000 (or WinXP) to Win 2003 Server to get soundcard working???

Thank you for any help!

BTW: This unofficial FAQ site lists many of the removed drivers:

Seducer -

Thanks for the help!

Should that one file be "Ksuser.dll"???

BTW: My Driver File Details in Win2000 Device Manager has lots more associated files, do you think they are necessary???

...ALL RIGHTY!!!...

Seducer, you be THE MAN!!!...

Even those cretins at Creative couldn't/wouldn't give out the poop on ISA sound in W2K3 Server!!!

...But Seducer nailed it right on the head!!!...

It took me 2 tries (made a wrong turn!), but I gots it working now!!!

Yes, DooM with sounds & music on W2K3 Server from an SB AWE64 ISA soundcard!!!...

...Muwahahahahaha!!!!... :P

Edit: Actually, the Doom sounds are crap; takes a big framerate hit; and no music...

...But the Windows Tada! sounds sweet!!!...

I had a old CD driver issue during Standard Edition initial install with Gold Code on an old PC that runs Linux and 2000 Server fine.
Talked to MSFT people at a Launch Event about it.
Was told that there were some questions about legacy drivers that they were aware off, updates will follow up...,
Promised to call back, still waiting...
