A confession: I grabbed commondreams wallet and discovered a bunch of banknotes. Obviously in need for help to spend some. Moralic a nagged person I know. Mainly writing this to make you feel good...

So, off to my favorite computer store, bought a DVD-burner. It's a LaCie, but it really is a Pioneer DVD-RW (DVR-105). There were a few things bundled with it. For burning purposes they gave me Eacy CD Creator 5.3.2.

So, a question for you: What is a good DVD-burner software?

I tried NTI VD/DVD v6 but honestly I don't like the interface that much. It also won't let me burn faster but 1x and that is just to slow. After all it is a 4x burner.

You could always try Nero 6, or even Alcohol 120%. Both give you a free fully functional demo to try out.

Agreed, i use both of them for general burning to DVD's. If on the other hand you want to burn DVD Video you will have to look further afield.

Thank you.

The main use is burning datafiles. Then one day I'm for sure want to burn a video also, but that is not now really. I think.
Can I use Alcohol for general burning, it is not for ISOs only?
For the old CD-R burner I liked to use Nero (5.5.x). Now after a format I don't have installed Nero yet, will it do for DVDs also? I'm not sure about Nero 6 yet, I think I'll wait with it until more positive reports have reached me.

Ok, then the Nero question is answered. I think I like that.
What about Alcohol then - can it be used for ordinary burning and not only when it comes to images (ie ISO, BIN)?

If you will go to their site and check they are very sketchy about iso and dvd, it say that on cd only and only one track.

You can even burn Nero images with Alcohol... They offer a lot of image formats to burn from...
