Did you add a firewall or something that is now blocking it from connecting?

If it is not a firewall issue, I would remove windows messenger. Do a clean install of MSN messenger.

Hey .:ian::.,

Do you recall the last program you may have installed under the account that is currently preventing you from signing into your MSN Messenger account? What was the last thing you can remember doing before this began happening to you? Did you get any errors while re-installing the program? Did you first try to un-install it and then reinstall it? Just trying to give you a few suggestions.

@tnc - I don't believe this would be a firewall issue if she is currently being able to access her MSN Messenger from a different account on her computer. I do agree with you that she should uninstall the program first before re-installing it.

I thought .:ian::. meant that the email could be checked via the hotmail link or by outlook /outlook express or something of that nature. If it is only this id that is not working in msn messenger where others are working in msn messenger on this same pc, then I would go to the msn web page and change my password. Perhaps that has become corrupt in the db. If the wrong password had been entered in that account it is also possible that it is now locked. Maybe someone else tried to log into your account. MSN has had a few problems lately though, so maybe it is a corrupt database on their part.

Hey guys,
Thanks so much for your time, trying to help me... your help is very much appreciated

@SlickVic78 - No, I am 99.9% sure that I did not do anything before the MSN problem occured. And no errors were present either...

@tnc - I've still didn't sort out the problem yet. I wanted to give up on the problem before but now I am curious again to find out what really wrong with it

When I can't sign in all what the messasge says is to make sure I am connected to internet. So actually all I know is it isn't a problem wih my internet connection because Microsoft Explorer DOES work while MSN doesn't .

Dian, did you sort out the problem yet? If so, what was the problem?
