my first guess is that it would be a program issue, I dont think it would be 126c, as that is super hot, hot enough to melt stuff!!! Maybe it was 126F and it had the C there by mistake (program bug?) I really doubt it was 126C, I hope it aint anyways!

hmm - not sure 52 C - 126 F

Um 126c and your system would be dead. lol

Most systems die at around 85c - 87c. AMD and Pentium.

BTW I have found Asus Probe to be the closest to the real temp.

It should be really, they made the damn motherboard after all.

I would not worrie about winbound I get weird reding to using it,
just use the asus prob and bios as a refernce way more accurate

Well....Speedfan is actually the 1 that reports the high temperature...

hmm - it has to be a bug - just installed speefan and I have the same thing -

even chnged to Farenheit - my temp #3 is now 216 F

I just checked my PC temps and had a 250GB Maxtor that was running 60C. 3 other HD's in the case are running 39, 41 and 43. I usually run the PC without the cover. I put the cover cover on to increase air flow around the HD's and now the Maxtor is running 54C. Mobo and cpu are running 31 and 35C respectively.

This is an ASUS P4C800-E board in an Antec Sonata case.

I first checked with Everest Ultimate and then d/l'd SpeedFan v 4.24 to compare. It shows roughly the same temps as Everest. But, shows an additional two LM75 sensors showing 127C!!!!

According to the configuration screen, these two LM75 temperature sensor readings are "intel SMBus". Can anyone tell me if this reading is significant?

These latter two sensors don't show up in Everest Ultimate 2005 program.

Anybody got observations about a hd running at 54C?

btw, I checked the specs for Maxtor. Looks like the Opeation temp range is up to 55C.

Hmm- 60 seems high - I would do a google search for

the max and min temps seem to vary with the model
then get a can of air and do a bit of airing out to see if dust is a problem.
