is it a bad idea to install this on a smooth running machine?
I am hesitant, because my config is running like a top now, and the last thing I want is to have a BETA SERVICE PACK screw things up..
What do you guys think?
thanks!

Hi,
I use Ghost 2003 all the time so if my OS gets screwed, takes me 5 minutes to get back where I was before.
What I want to do is Slipstream this SP2 into XP and burn, then do upgrade from XP, seems to work better for me.

What would really be nice, is to just grab the IE6.5 installer and let some of us that have 56k connection to at least try the Internet Explorer out for now. I would think that would install on top of sp1 wouldn't?
Microsoft hasn't gone as far as to making IE6.5 only for the sp2 version and higher have they?
If someone could check to see if they can lift the setup files off the sp.2 beta please post it.
Thanks

I rolled my pc back to pre-SP-2 beta. For reasons I can't figure I get no sound when playing a DVD movie file, whether from the hd or the dvd reader. Or, more specifically, sound might run with WinDVD, but not Media Player. Also been getting a few "program not responding" situations.

For a trial of the new IE - a google search for
IE-6-05-build0006.rar should turn up a few places where you
can download it.
