Heh...I'll be different here. Photoshop for indepth graphics, but for every day stuff I use PSP 7. I wouldn't say it is trying to be like Photoshop. The two have way different interfaces. In general, PSP is much easier for a newbie doing everyday graphics editing.

At school was use PaintShop, but at home I use Photoshop 7. IMO the two programs are for different purposes. If you are making a graphic for example: a flyer, or something that you will be printing, then use Paintshop, but if it is for web stuff, I would use Photoshop.

I like PainShop 7.04 because it seemed easier to learn than PhotoShop. But with version 8 beta out, it looks more and more like PhotoShop. Maybe the thing to do is stay with the "Cadillac", even if you prefer a plain Chevrolet.
