I did a search and found it in " system32" and "i386" and "help" ......there were some more places but they were from real betas on another drive. After lots of thought I said what the hell and did a complete CLEAN reinstall and all seems ok as of now.

As to your question, it had to come from a Sp beta cause I have not used any betas before these "Xp" betas and I have read "that" file on here before and it was NOT 180 day limit. After reinstall it`s not now either.....All probably would have been fine but this has been running trouble free for awhile and really did need a fresh install.....LOL

Hi

With reference to the SP1 file size; I believe size of SP1 is 133MB (140.440.152 bytes) and not 135MB.

With reference to the "New" EULA; what's the difference between that and the "original" EULA? I.e. Where does it differ in the text?

UPDATE: I have just seen an SP1 1106 FINAL which is 135MB. What is the correct size? 133MB or 135MB?

And is there going to be a "standard" SP1 for XP and another for the MSDN/Corporate XP version? Maybe that's the difference in the sizes and maybe one of those files is not all it should be and that's why some users have the 180 EULA and some don't?

Can anyone throw any light on this?

I guess, to be sure, we might as well wait and download it from Microsoft on 9th September

Regards

HamsterX, Brave01Heart, others:

My download is:
RAR format - 138,720 KB
EXE file - 137,149 KB
Properties Window:
140,440,152 bytes
1.16.121.0 Version Number

Reason for the question is that I saw a couple comments (other sites) that M$ had quietly substituted a newer "patched" final correcting some minor problems.

@Brave

140.440.152 bytes: I agree, this is what I had seen around in the servers, irc...

133 MB/ 135 MB / xxx MB : Caution when comparing file sizes. Different server OSes may report different byte sizes for the same file in certain conditions, sometimes depending on the way the FTP connection is done. Hence the confusion. Or maybe there are forgotten SP1 betas still around...

"New" EULA grants Microsoft right to silently "update" your OS. "Snooper" License. Started being applied with Win2k SP3, I think. This "new" EULA displays when updating, but not when setting up from slipstreamed CD.

Different SP1 "flavours": I don't think so... I'm using the one with 140.440.152 bytes with MSDN=Vol=Corp XP, and I have read posts about sucessfull SP1 installs/updates/slipstreams with both Retail/OEM Home/Pro XP. And Win2k never had different SPx files for Pro/Server/ Adv. Server versions.
That 180-day EULA must be trash remaining from the betas, nothing more.

Waiting for 9th Sept. : I agree, we never known what M$ readies... :P

Hope this helps.
