By moving the modem to a different slot, your irq changed for the modem.
It's more likely that there was a bad slot on the m/b, and moving the modem to another slot fixed it. I haven't heard of moving to another slot changing an IRQ, IRQ's aren't assigned to individual slots. Also by moving it to another slot, the OS saw a new device and might have re-loaded a corrupted driver. [/b][/quote]
Before transferring to another slot remove first on the device manager.
so there will be no corrupted driver.
