I could say that i m with McoreD to this. Its a plain simple OS building in a pretty stable kernel, who makes u feel that u are the boss and not the opposite.U can disable/enable things giving u the freedom to choose and play without fearing that u will loose your work, but most of all is the security feeling that gives u.Okey its not funcy etc..but u can make it if u want.Personally i dont like the themes,etc..as i never see the screen...lol..but yea i still listen my music,is all i want, just to find some solitaire games and i will feel like a king, yea i miss the Xp games.

Start button--->run--->services.msc
Look for Windows Audio and set the service to auto, then start it.
Providing all your drivers are installed for the hardware then sound will work

Dunno if it's right, but I think that it is a little faster when handling big files than WinXP.
Been using it for a couple of weeks and it is very nice.
I had WinXP before and that did good too. I never had instablitity problems with XP, and I even had uptimes for as long as 8 days.

Being running it for a while, and I like the ability to do things such as remote desktop and setting up an FTP site. While the fancy look of XP was kinda cool at first, I prefer the simple and clean look of W2K3.
And it definitely feels more solid. You can tweak it, have the power of Administrative tools, and just an overall work horse.
As for speed, it IS fast. Out of the box with basic services running, I'd say it is faster than XP. Top it off with the improved performance of the 8 MB Cache buffer on a new 160 GB Hard Drive, and this thing is a pleasure to work with.
Cheers!

Yeppers. I really like the 2003 version. It is running on my laptop for months now. Went through all the steps to make it more, for lack of a better term, XP like. Very happy with it now.

Hi,
I had a problem where Win Server 2003 twqeaked as XP 2003 refused to see my USB hard-drive.
Solution is to goto:
Start/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management
Then select the USB hard-drive or partitions, right-click the select Change Drive Letter and select ADD, then give it a driver letter.
Reboot and it should be fine.

Hi,
The only problem I seem to have now is that Win Server 2003 doesn't see my Digital Camera when it's connected to the USB port when I'm trying to download some pictures.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you tried turning on Windows Image Acquisition service? Hope that works.
