In Speed FAn you can disable those "bogus"?? 127C readings in the setup screen. I just wonder what the heck they represent.
Thanks for the helpful comments, friends, My cpu is ok, and gave it a good shot of "air" to clean the heat sink. It's running at 49C (A pentium 2.8GHz). It's just that durned Maxtor that runs so hot--10 degrees higher than the other HD's. I backed up everything and removed most of the data from it and am thinking of setting it asside for some future pc I might put together with more cooling power.
Now I regret selling my Lian-Li case that had 3 cooling fans in it. It had an AMD mobo in it and that did run hotter than pentiums do.
