MySpace and Attorneys General Promote Internet Safety
In a joint effort to increase the safety of teens online, MySpace plus 49 states and the District of Columbia have agreed on a common set of Key Principles of Social Networking Sites Safety, including online safety tools, technology, education and law enforcement cooperation, designed for industry-wide adoption. The Attorneys General praised MySpace for its efforts to date, the progress it has made in improving online safety and its continued efforts to make specific improvements over the coming months. It would appear that MySpace wants to become a leader in Online Safety for Social Networks, a very ambitious goal. MySpace vows to improve itself in the following four Principles of Social Networking: Site Design and Functionality; Education and Tools for Parents, Educators and Children; Law Enforcement Cooperation; and Online Safety Task Force.
