Well normally one has the oportunity to specify where to download the executable file. I did this but the file seemed to automatically open and set itself up and there is no record of any file being downloaded.
Now if / when I next format, it seems that I will NOT be able to re install the program. This is more WPA crap it seems.

oh well that is a pain. have you looked through temp internet files? windows usally puts it in there if it just "opens" the file. it would help if you could figure out what the name of the exe is then you could just search your computer for it.

Thanks RadiationBoy,
Thats what I would have thought, but I suspect that in this case, Symantec's downloader was programed to over ride my instructions to download the file and place it in a specific directory. Digital river was posting the installer and once the program arrived the installer took over.
I will do a bit more checking but suspect that this is some sort of piracy protection scheme where the .exe file does not exist.

oh yeah I forgot about the whole systematic downloader thing. you might also check C:\WINDOWS\Temp thats where I found IE setup files once. i think there is also a temp folder under documents and settings. lol I'm just guess here :P
